Introducing Sarah
My first exposure to yoga was 8 years ago at a pivotal and personally challenging period in my life. It was through my own initial yoga practice that I came to experience the healing properties this ancient science promotes -physically, mentally and emotionally. This became something I was passionate to share with others. As a personal trainer I have always been passionate about health, well being, the personal development of others and the psychology behind it. Making the choice to study at Nature Care College 5 years ago to become a yoga teacher seemed like the most natural step forward in my desire to help other’s in their health and wellness quest.
I believe it is important to challenge yourself throughout your yoga practice, be that on a physical or mental level – it is through our challenges that we learn the truth of our own capacity, the triggers that inhibit our growth, our ability to accept the way we are and how to remain at peace when we come face to face with adversity. I offer a relatable and practical approach to yoga. I share the philosophy behind the practice and it’s relevance to our lives today in union with valuable alignment cues to enable the optimal development of my student’s practice.
I offer Power Vinyasa yoga classes, and personal one on one sessions. I believe the combination of dynamic and restorative practices (Yin and Yang) provides a balanced and whole approach to this ancient practice we know as ‘Yoga’.
‘ Be as simple as you can be; you will be astonished to see how uncomplicated and happy your life can become’
– Paramahansa Yogananda
What is Power Vinyasa Yoga?
Power Vinyasa yoga is a dynamic flowing sequence that originates from Ashtanga Yoga. On a physical level, power yoga will improve your core, upper and lower body strength, increase your flexibility, improve your posture, reduce your risk of injury and assists in maintaining a healthy weight.
On a mental level, yoga assists in reducing the causes and effects of stress, improves your mental clarity, promotes a sense of overall well being, and can assist with depression and/or anxiety.
Bootcamp is a ‘work out’… Yoga is a ‘work in’.
This class is suited to beginners and experienced yogis alike.
